Build a Form Link to Collect Fan Details

Put a short form in front of any destination to collect emails and phone numbers: fields, privacy policy, skip option and preview, step by step.

A Form link shows fans a short form before they reach the destination. Everyone who fills it in becomes an Identified Fan in AndR, with an email address or phone number the artist team can contact. Use it when the destination is worth something to the fan: presale access, an unreleased track, a merch drop or a giveaway.

Step 1: Create a Fan Link and choose Form

Go to Audience, open Fan Capture and click Create Fan Link. On the Setup tab, select Form: "Collect details before continuing." Two new tabs appear, Form and Branding, and a Live Preview button shows up top right.

Fill in the Destination URL (where fans go after the form) and the Fan Link ending, such as presale-antwerp.

Step 2: Write the heading and button

Open the Form tab. Under Form Content, set the Form Heading (default: Stay in touch) and the Button Text (default: Continue). Name what the fan gets, such as "Get presale access", so the reason to fill in the form is clear before they start typing.

Step 3: Choose the fields

Under Form Fields, every form starts with First name (Optional) and Email (Required).

  • Drag a field by its handle to change the order.

  • Use the three-dot menu on a field to edit it, for example to make it optional or required.

  • Click Add Field to add more. In Add Element, pick a field under Use an Existing Field, such as a phone number, or add a Text Block to explain the offer between fields.

Ask for as little as you need. Every extra required field is one more reason to leave.

Step 4: Add a privacy policy and decide on skipping

Scroll down on the Form tab.

  • Form Privacy Policy URL: paste the artist's privacy policy so fans can read how their details are used. This is recommended for every form, and expected for fans in the EU and UK.

  • Allow Fans to Skip the Form: on by default. Fans then see a "No thanks, continue" link and still reach the destination. AndR keeps the click and fires the pixels either way.

Leave skipping on when the destination is public anyway, like a streaming link. Turn it off when the destination is the reward, like a presale code or an unreleased track, so the form becomes the way in.

Step 5: Brand the page and preview it

The Branding tab sets how the form looks. See Brand Your Form and Marquee Pages. Click Live Preview to see the form as a fan sees it, draft changes included.

The preview shows the marketing checkbox fans tick to agree to direct marketing. Only fans who tick it have agreed to receive marketing messages.

Step 6: Set pixels and consent, then create

On Tracking & Cookies, check the pixels and pick a cookie consent mode, then click Create Link. See Choose a Cookie Consent Mode.

Where the submissions go

Every submission lands in Audience, Fan List. On the Fan Capture tab, the Identified Fans column counts them per link. A Direct link always shows a dash in that column, because only Form links collect details.

To get those fans into the artist's email tool, see From Form Sign-Up to Your Email List.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the form after the link is live?

Yes. Click Edit on the link. The URL stays the same.

What does a form do to traffic?

Some fans leave at the form. With skipping allowed, they still reach the destination and still count as Recognized Visitors.
