How to Set Up a TikTok Pixel

This guide explains how to create and connect your TikTok Pixel so you can build retargeting audiences directly from your AndR Fan Capture flows.

What You’re Setting Up

TikTok uses a Pixel ID to track activity and build audiences inside its ad platform.

Once connected, the TikTok Pixel allows you to:

  • Track fan interactions

  • Build custom audiences

  • Retarget fans across TikTok

For most AndR setups, a single Pixel ID is enough to get started.

Why This Matters for AndR

Every Fan Capture click is intent.

When you connect your TikTok Pixel:

  • Every fan interaction becomes an audience signal

  • You can re-engage fans after they leave your link

  • You build a persistent audience layer across campaigns and releases

This turns Fan Capture into a system that compounds over time.

If you haven’t set up your links yet, start with Setting Up Fan Capture Links.

Step-by-Step Setup

If you’ve run ads before on TikTok, you may already have a Pixel.

1A. I already have a TikTok Pixel

  1. Go to TikTok Ads Manager.

  2. Navigate to Assets → Events.

  3. Select your Pixel and copy the Pixel ID.

1B. I don’t have a TikTok Pixel yet

Inside TikTok Ads Manager:

  1. Go to Assets → Events

  2. Click Connect Data Source

  3. Select Web

  4. Choose TikTok Pixel

  5. Click Create and name your Pixel

Once created, TikTok will generate your Pixel ID.

Important nuance

TikTok may also offer:

  • Events API (Server-side tracking)

  • Partner integrations

For AndR, you only need the Pixel ID. No additional setup is required.

Do you need to install anything?

No.

TikTok will suggest installing code on a website, you can skip this.

AndR handles the event firing on the redirect layer.

2. Add Your Pixel to AndR

Go to your Fan Capture setup inside AndR.

  • In the Linked Pixels section

  • Paste your TikTok Pixel ID

That’s it.

Every fan who clicks your Fan Capture link will now trigger an event before reaching the destination.

What this unlocks

You can now:

  • Capture high-intent fans at the moment they act

  • Build Custom Audiences inside TikTok

  • Retarget fans across future campaigns

  • Optimize performance based on real engagement

Important Notes

  • You typically only need one Pixel per ad account

  • You can reuse the same Pixel across all Fan Capture links

  • Do not create separate Pixels unless you need strict separation between campaigns or partners

Pixels fire on the AndR redirect layer, before the fan reaches the destination.

If your audience includes European fans, make sure your consent mode is configured correctly.

Read Fan Data, Consent, and the Law before activating tracking.

TikTok is where discovery happens.

Fan Capture makes sure that discovery becomes an audience you can reach again.
